The Downtown
Greenville Farmers’ Market is returning on Saturday, June 2 located by the
Darke County Courthouse on the corner of 4th and Broadway. Sponsored
by Wayne Healthcare and KitchenAid Experience the Farmers’ Market has been a
staple of summer in Darke County since 1998, and this year promises to be
another great year to shop for fresh produce, baked goods and local crafts from
many great local vendors. Here’s a sampling of vendors and what you’ll find at
their tables:
The Ansonia FFA Greenhouse will
offer seasonal plants and produce including annuals, perennials, trees, fruits,
vegetables and potted herbs.
Rhoadeside Noodles & More
will have Noodles, Breads, Angel Food Cake. This is a family business with
their boys helping in making the noodles. The eggs for the noodles and
cakes are gathered daily right on their farm.
Greenville
Community Gardens enjoy naturally produced fruits and vegetables. By gathering
people around shared food, shared work, and shared inquiry, the Greenville
Community Gardens Project fosters a culture that draws meaning and pleasure
from the connections among people, land, and food.
Threewits Heritage Farm will be
offering fresh flowers, vegetables, and crafts.
M & R enterprises will have
her family friendly books about legends and hauntings in Darke County and the
mountains of Kentucky and Tennessee for sale.
Francis Byers will have fresh
fruits and vegetables from his acre of land and 60 fruit trees starting in
July.
Three Generations will be
offering crocheted goods, a variety of baked goods and embroidered items.
Simply Dessert will offer
homemade baked goods made with all natural ingredients and no preservatives.
Kurt Wolf offers baked goods,
vegetables, crafts, eggs, berries and jams.
KD’s Café, Cakes and Mini Donuts
will have their popular mini donuts and coffee available
The market will run all summer
and into the fall, 20 Saturdays in all, from June 2 until October 13 and will
be held rain or shine. It will be open from 9am until 1 pm.
