Main Street Greenville is pleased announce a very special downtown event geared for families with young children (Young Households) called Savoring Our Sweet Stories - A Story Time on the Courthouse Lawn, on Saturday, September 24 from 11:00am - 11:45am during downtown Greenville's Days of Harvest celebration event.

Savoring Our Sweet Stories is the first of four upcoming events planned by Main Street Greenville in promotion of their downtownmatters! initiative. "We wanted to offer a specific event downtown just for the community's families with young children. Eating sugar cookies and participating in a special storytime on our beautiful courthouse lawn.....what child and parent wouldn't love that!" stated Amber Schmerge, Director for Main Street Greenville. "We're so thrilled and very grateful the Greenville Public Library and Janet's Bakery have agreed to help host and offer the event with us."

Families can expect to be welcomed by Main Street Greenville volunteers handing out sweet treats while guiding them to comfy blankets spread along the lawn. Julie Frohna, Children's Specialist with the Greenville Public Library will share stories and sing-a-longs of sweet adventures pertaining to fall harvest. Event partners of the event include the Greenville Public Library, Janet's Bakery and Main Street Greenville. To learn more about the free event, visit www.downtowngreenville.org.

The downtownmatters! initiative is the sole funding drive and volunteerism solicitation vehicle for Main Street Greenville. A fundamental goal of the annual campaign is to bring focus to all individuals and respective segments who play a critical role in creating a downtown that matters; the underlining purpose and service Main Street Greenville works to achieve. Acting together; individual community members, businesses, organizations and government parties become the key investors of a sustaining and impactful Downtown Greenville that establishes a standard of living and quality of life we want to reflect and enjoy...to the end of a downtownmatters! Since it is Our Stories. Our Place. Our Future. For more information on the downtownmatters! initiative or Main Street Greenville, Amber Schmerge, at 937-548-4998.
