This past Saturday was the Annual Adopt a Box planting day.  The downtown was busy from 6:30 in the morning until 1 in the afternoon with people preping the flower boxes to planting to watering.  Thanks to the 43 participants in the Adopt a Box and Pot Program.  We are anxious to see the downtown stay as beautiful as it was on Saturday.

Sorry for the delay in providing pictures for the Dining in the Darke experience.  The first ever experience of its kind in
Darke County was a huge hit!  So much so that our board would like to venture to do another one.

Mark your calendar for Friday, February 13, 2009 for the next Dining in the Darke!
Montage Cafe is the location set for the experience.  Tickets are available at Montage, 537 S. Broadway or by calling 937.548.4998.  Tickets are $40 per person.  Limited seating available.

A blindfold, good food, and great company are what we paired for tonight's event of Dining in the Darke.  It will be interesting to hear the reactions and comments from the participants on how their other senses took over after being in the "darke."

In darkness everyone becomes equal.  Our opinions can't be molded by dress, mannerisms or makeup as none of it can be seen.  You learn that without sight your other senses become more acute.  It gives sighted people an opportunity to test their dexterity, use their other senses and to enjoy the flavors, smells and textures of their supper.

Dining in the Darke is a new fundraising effort for Main Street Greenville.  Pair dinner and conversation with curiosity add in downtown and after dinner dialog to make for a great evening of experiencing something never experienced in the Darke.

We would love to hear your comments from the evening.
